I'm your host, Caitlin Cole, also known as the K in class. Today, the founder of a class solutions a man I'm proud to call my father explains why he started class and the meaning behind the name.

Hi, everyone, this is Phil Cole, and I'm the owner of class solutions. And I want to thank you for joining the first podcast of dental education with class solutions, I thought I would start off by giving you a brief bio of myself and how class solutions started. I think it's important for you to understand where class solutions is coming from. So I have a degree in elementary education. And I taught for four years in Arizona with my wife. And after we had our first child, we wanted to move back to Michigan just because we both come from very strong families. And we knew that being so far away, our families weren't going to be able to get together very much. So when we moved back to Michigan, I wasn't able to find a teaching job at the time. So I had the opportunity to get into dental sales. So I worked for a down Supply Company for 15 years, and I was fortunate enough to have a mentor who taught me when you are doing sales, make sure you learn all aspects of the dental business and educate them. Don't get concerned with just selling the product that the company wants you to sell. So I worked hard to make sure that I built a network of dental specific professionals around me, so that I could give the best information education to my customers. The problem was is as an educator, I fell in love with the practice management part of the business. And so I early on, dove into understanding all the KPIs of a practice and what makes an efficient practice run so well versus one that isn't run so well. And after 15 years of working on practice management, and building over 15 practices brokering practices, I decided to start class solutions. The vision for class solutions was to take my training and knowledge. And now along with my 11 coaches and mentors, give you doctors, the knowledge and education that I feel is vital for you to become prosperous. Hence our motto is turn purpose into prosperity. So I don't want insulting but no, I don't want you to get me wrong. There are many of you I know that will be listening to this that are very successful. However, let's face it, we always can do better. We can always be more efficient, we can always have better cash flow, we can always be a better leader. And we always want to go home at night to be able to sleep knowing that we did good dentistry for our patients. And we were a good business owner. So now many people asked me did why did you name your company class solutions. And when they see class, it's Kol A S. And what's with the three arrows? Well, I have for the most important people represented in my company name. And they are the reason that I get up wanting to work every single day and that is my wife and my three daughters. Hence class is the initials of those four important people. So my oldest daughter, Caitlin is the K. My middle daughter, Laura is the L. And my youngest daughter Aubrey is the A. And then of course, there's my wife and my rock, Shelly, for the Yes. Now the three arrows are important. Because what they are is we know there are three parts of a dental practice. There's team and leadership, there's business and then there's clinical. You will also notice that when looking at the arrows that they overlap or intertwine. And that's because as a dental business, you need all three of these arrows to work, mingle, intertwine whatever you want to say together to make a prosperous practice, no one arrow can make a practice prosperous. So within 22 years of experience, I want to bring along with my 11 coaches again, information to you on all aspects of dentistry. I want to bring to you information on team and leadership educate you in business and clinical information, product knowledge, financial planning, legal and accounting information. I want you to learn about your business and when I say learn about your business, I mean your LLC and your corporate business with our mentors. I want you to learn about transitions, startups, sociate ships and more. as owner of class, I do not want you to think that I'm going to try giving you all the answers, because that would be wrong. But what I do want you to know is I will be bringing you our trusted team of professionals that I've been working with for years, true partners that are out for your best interest.
